One of tasks to complete this summer was transitioning our guest room to baby boy #2's room. This involved a couple steps.
Step #1: Paint the guest room/baby's room, and sell furniture to finance it all.
We sold this dresser along with our guest bed. This seems to be the only before picture I have of the guest room/ now baby's room. It's hard to tell from the picture, but the wall color is a very dark brownish red. We decided to paint both boys rooms the same flat grey color as Nathan had in his previous room at the old house.
Step #2: Paint Nathan's room.
Nathan spent about a week sleeping in baby #2's room. You can see a quick before of Nathan's room above. In both rooms the ceiling was for some reason painted a dark tan, which make them both feel small and dark. Just painting the ceilings white made a huge difference.
Step #3: Transition Nathan to a twin bed so the baby would have a crib to sleep in.
We bought a set of bunk beds that could be separated. One Nathan will use and the other will be used as a daybed/guest bed in the playroom until boy #2 is ready to make the switch. Nathan transitioned to the twin with no issues, he goes to bed just a fast, and doesn't get out of bed in the morning until we come get him up. Now he gets to sleep on the wonderful quilt Grandma made him.

Step #5: Decorate the baby's room
Nathan's room is grey with a green and blue trim, while baby #2 will have more navy and red to go along with the grey. They complement each other nicely while both having their own style. I love the madras curtains we found for baby #2.
Nathan loves to go into baby's room whenever possible. He points to the crib and says, "Baby, baby." He picks up old toys and says they are baby's toys. It is really cute.
Just a few pics of Nathan's room. It is so big now! We borrowed a dresser from friends and placed it in the closet. I'm not sure Nathan needs a playroom anymore since he still has so much floor space in his room. We are currently looking for a cute storage trunk to take up some space and provide toy storage.
Next up: Painting the ceilings and crown molding in the formal dining room, entryway and library.
